Production Diary 3
Our primary goal was to refilm the establishing shot because we were reshooting sequences that we didn't like the first time around, and that scene included the establishing shot. After finishing the establishing picture, we made the decision to get closer to it. I think today was a complete success and that we accomplished everything we set out to do. We were able to complete all of the photos, and we decided at the last minute not to have a discussion, so the microphone was rendered useless. One issue we had was that it began raining; we were not at all prepared or expecting that it would start raining; however, we were able to use that to our advantage because it allowed us to get a really beautiful establishing shot and the rain was ideal for the genre of our film. The extreme close-up of our protagonist walking toward the kitchen is one shot that worked out really well and helped us create meaning today. This is because an extreme close-up would cause the viewer to feel uneasy and close to our protagonist's face, which would cause them to be caught off guard by the upcoming jumps. care
