Research: Audience
Statistics that characterize populations and their traits are known as demographics. The study of a population-based on characteristics like age, race, and sex is known as demographic analysis. Demographics are used in films to target a specific group of people the film was created for, usually referred to as the audience.
Breaking bad is based on the main character Walter White. After learning that he has terminal cancer and turning to a life of crime to support his family, Walter White, a modest high school chemistry teacher, finds a new purpose in life. The television show is centered on his escapades. Breaking bad was intended for an audience of white males that fit the age group of 20-49. The target audience is intended to relate to Walter White's life as he follows the stereotypical white male lifestyle, for example living in the suburbs in a white town while working a middle-class job as a teacher. This sense of relatability creates popularity among the age group for the show.
